Teaching Tip Tuesday - How many days in each month?

So since I am a teacher I have decided every Tuesaday will be 'Teaching Tip Tuesday' where I will share some useful hints and tips on ways you can help your children with their school work at home!

I specialised in age 7 - 14 years in my degree and then went on to study a postgraduate course focussing on brirth - 5 years so each week I will look at different activities/games that you can play with your children to help them with their development particulary their language, communication skills and numeracy skills.

Let me know if there are any areas which you would like advice on eg times tables, activities to do with young babies or maybe a quick tutorial on how to do some of that tricky maths like long division.

How many days in each month?

Here's a quick tip for teaching your children how many days are in each month. This is a really good interactive way of learning and retaining the information as you use your knuckles so the children can remember it wherever they are!

Basically going along your knuckles starting at the far left - each knuckle counts as 31 days and each part inbetween the knuckles is 30 days (bar February which you will have to explain to the children has 28 days apart from in a leap year where there are 29)

Remember you don't count your thumb knuckle - just follow the diagram above!

Let me know if this kind of post is something you would like to see each week!
