How to make a diaper/nappy cake

You will need:

•Around 60 nappies
•ribbon (1.5m)
•elastic bands in all different sizes
•toys/clothes to decorate
•cake base
•hot glue gun

First you need to roll your nappies into cylinder shapes. Start rolling with the open end first.

Using elastic bands secure the nappy, you will need lots of bands in all different sizes

Get your cake base ready to start assembling your cake. I like to use a bamboo stick to keep my layers together but you don't have to.

Once you have a few nappies rolled (see below)

You now need to start placing the nappies together slowly building them into a circle and using a large band to secure.

Eventually you will end up with this.

You then need to continue rolling and securing nappies to make the second layer.

Now for the top.

You can then decorate your cake with toys and clothing.

Place your cake topper on the top. A cute teddy works well. Then attach your ribbon. You can use a hot glue gun to do this. You can make these cakes as big or small as you wish. You can do a 4-layer cake or a 2-layer.
