Weekend away!

So we are taking Mia on her first weekend away to visit my family in the north of England. It is unbelievable how much you have to pack for a baby...clothes, steriliser, bottles, toys...the list goes on. Luckily we have got a travel cot already there so we don't need to pack that. We are also taking Mia's Snug chair which is like the bumbo to feed her as the highchair is too big to take.

I'm really excited as my auntie, uncle and cousins have never met Mia so it will be lovely for her to meet all her extended family!

Soap and Glory Facial Exfoliator Review

I am a big fan of the Soap and Glory range available in Boots. I like their creams and body scrubs but my favourite product is the facial exfoliator. I have been using their facial exfoliator for a few years now and I have stuck with this exfoliator because I love it so much!

It comes in a cream tube, it's not a huge tube but it's a decent size for an exfoliator. It has tiny bursting beads inside which help to clear your pores. I find that you can really feel it cleaning your face and cleaning your pores and afterwards my skin feels really soft. It's not as gentle as some other exfoliators but for me it is the perfect blend of bursting beads and cream. It makes my face feel clean and you only need to use it once or twice a week. I use it twice a week usually.

It costs around £8 but Boots often do a 3 for 2 on beauty products so it is worth waiting until one of those deals and getting a few bits at the same time.

What is your favourite Soap and Glory product?

Quick update...

So I was just scrolling through my blog and realised I have been doing lots of baby posts recently but not many fashion or beauty posts!!! So I have scheduled some beauty ones for this week. They are mainly about different products I have bought and my reviews of them but I also have some more makeup tutorials coming up, woohoo! I will also be doing a maxi dress look book type post soon too as I am a little obsessed with maxi dresses! Haha!

My blogging journey so far....

I originally started by making a YouTube channel when I was 26 weeks pregnant with Mia. I had been watching some other mummy vloggers and decided I would quite enjoy making pregnancy videos to track my pregnancy. At the same time I started this blog as a place to do pregnancy updates and save photographs of my growing bump!

All the enthusiasm was there at the beginning and I was excited to begin the journey into the blogging community.....but I just wasn't consistent enough with it. I would only update the blog when I made a new YouTube video which could be every week or even month on occasion and my blog post was always linked to my YouTube so was never getting any fresh, unique content.

So I decided enough is enough if I'm going to do this I'm going to do it properly or not at all! So I began scheduling posts (a very good suggestion made by a blogging friend of mine) and writing enough content for a weeks worth of posts, meaning I could spend one morning writing my blog and then I wouldn't have to worry about updating everyday. This has worked amazingly for me! Having a young baby most of my time is taken up caring for her. I also still work so my afternoons and evenings are spent at work so the best time for me to keep up t date with my blog is the mornings. We have a cleaner who comes every Tuesday morning and I wait indoors for her to finish so that's the day I tend to do most of my posts. I think the hardest thing about blogging is taking photographs as your out and about. I am not quite in the habit yet of snapping pictures of random, cool things and organising myself so I have photographs that match my content. I am trying so please be patient with me, I will get better. Promise! I am also looking to buy a SLR camera soon so I don't have to use my iPhone to take photographs with any more - a few of my better photographs are taken with my sister's SLR canon camera, I'm sure you can probably tell which ones!

I would love to hear how your blogging journey started.......

Baby rice

We started Mia on baby rice earlier this week. The first day I made it very runny so it was like the consistency of milk but a little thicker and she loved it! She ate the whole bowl! Haha! From then I have made it thicker - 2 spoons of rice to 8 spoons of milk and she has loved that too! She was even able to hold her own spoon and after getting it in her hair and nearly poking her eye she got it in her mouth!

Very proud mummy here :)

Mia's dressing room

A little tour of Mia's dressing room. At the moment she sleeps in her cot in our room so we store all her changing unit and most of her toys in a small room next to ours.

Watch the video tour here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnyhszALKr4

I have done a review of her changing unit as it is brilliant click here: http://www.pregnantandparenthood.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/ladybird-changing-unit-review.html
If you're thinking about buying a changing unit and aren't sure which one to buy this just might help!
