Mia is sleeping through the night!

This is going to be a short announcement post but I thought it was worth it as this is big news in our household!

Mia is finally after 2 years sleeping through the night regularly and not waking until 7am!

Back in February of this year I decided I had, had enough of one of us having to go up with her every night anywhere between midnight - 2am and sleep with her in the spare room. I had already worked hard to establish a good bedtime routine and she was falling asleep on her own each night. I went out and purchased the Gro-clock and it was honestly the best £20 I have ever spent! She picked up the concept really quickly and I also had a sticker chart to reward her when she didn't wake us before 'the sun came up' on her clock. At first she would still wake and I would explain to her that the sun wasn't up and that she has to stay in her bed. We had a few  tears and a few times she asked to ''go in other bed'' but I was determined not to give in! After about 5 weeks she is now sleeping through without waking most nights! It's amazing to know that when I go to bed I won't be woken and we will have 8 hours of undistutbed sleep! I will do a separate post in more detail for those who need help sleep training a toddler and I think I will also do a review of the gro-clock because it is brilliant!

Life update!

So I haven't been blogging much recently. Basically my iPhone is broken and I write all my posts via my iPhone so I've been a little lost without it!

Just a little update of what we've been up to over the last month or so....

Our week in photos

These last few weeks have been a little crazy. We've been quite busy with work and home life. We're going on a short trip to Paris in a couple of weeks and we've been getting organised for that. It will be our first family holiday abroad which is pretty exciting! Here are a few photos from the past week.

February

February has been a quiet month on the blog. It's gone really quickly and a lot has happened in a short space of time. We have bought our wedding rings, booked a candy cart for the wedding and are in the process of sleep training Mia again! (More on that in another post!)

Here's a few pictures of our February.

Bracknell Lookout Discovery Centre

So today we ventured out to the Lookout  Discovery Centre in Bracknell. After hearing good things and it being recommended we thought we would try it. Our usual family outings usually consist of the farm, park or swimming so it was great to go somewhere a bit different. The discovery centre is basically a science centre for children, all the activities are interactive and they have great areas for the under 5's. They had water play, building blocks, ride ons and colouring. They also had all the science exhibitions like a mini hot air balloon, light display, building a bridge and more. Mia absolutely loved it! At first I thought she would get bored as a lot of the displays qhereor older children but she loved it all! We spent a good 3 hours and Mia would of happily stayed for a lot longer!

I would definitely recommend the lookout discovery centre to other families looking for a day out thats a little bit different!

Wedding update

This blog has been a little neglected recently. Mostly due to my hectic life at the moment! Work, wedding planning and looking after a two year old are taking up all my time!

This is a little update regarding the plans for the wedding.

We have booked all the vendors, DJ, caterers, mobile bar etc. We have decided on all the decorations and have started to collect materials together to create the look we want.

Most importantly I have found my dress! One shop, 3rd dress I tried on and that was it! I was deliberating between 2 and I will share a photo of the dress I decided not to go for.

I love this dress a lot! It's very princess but it's very unusual with the detail around the top and the scoop neck. It suited me and I loved it, however it was heavier than the dress I have chosen and in summer I think keeping cool is important and not having too much weight to the dress

My dress is actually quite different to this one and when I eventually share photographs of the wedding you will see why, but until then you will just have to wait!

My bridesmaids are in different pastel shades of the same dress.

This is the dress, this photo doesn't do it justice at all! Bad lighting and iphone equals disastrous photography!

The colours I am going for are these minus the coral/orange shade

This is an example of bridesmaids in a similar kind of pastel look

I think it looks really pretty for a summer wedding and this way I can ensure each girl is in a colour that suits her.
