Mia turns 3!

So this is well overdue! If I'm being honest I haven't been a particularly active  blogger recently. I could blame Christmas and Mia's birthday but the truth is I have just been lazy recently! Haha!

Anyway here we go. Mia turned 3 on 23rd November. I can't believe it's been over 3 years since she came into our lives and also over 3 years since I started this little blog on the Internet.

She is a chatter box and has started nursery now. She loves it and is really gaining a lot from it. She has become quite fussy with food recently which is really hard work. She has started to try more things though (mostly because I use blackmail 'your hair will grow long like rapunzels if you eat your meat or veggies')

She is obsessed with Disney princesses at the moment! Sleeping beauty especially. For Christmas she asked for dressing up outfits as that's her favourite thing to do. If Mia had it her way she would never wear normal clothes and would just walk around in her princess costumes haha!

We threw her a Disney princess party with rapunzel, Flynn rider and belle. She loved it and still talks about it now.

Here's a few photos from her princess birthday party.

Around this town

I am very fortunate to live somewhere with so much greenery yet still be close enough to London to enjoy life in the capital!

Yesterday we found this field close up our house which just goes on and on and would be lovely for a picnic! Mia enjoyed just running around in the fresh air!

Heat wave

It's been a heat wave this week in the UK! We are so not equipt for his type of heat! (then again we are also not equipt for snow or a huge amount of rain......what are we equipt for?!)

Anyway we spent a lot of our time this week at the sandpit in the park or outside in the paddling pool (in between work of course!)

Here are some snaps of our week!

Fussy eating

Mia used to be a brilliant eater. She would try anything and ate all the vegetables and fruit! However the last few months Mia has developed into a fussy eater......she won't try new things and doesn't want to eat anything green. By green I mean vegetables! She is still ok with fruit. She loves melon and would eat that all day. She also enjoys bananas still.

I've been struggling with meals for Mia recently that dont consist of baked beans or pesto! We are still quite strict with what we allow Mia to eat in terms of junk food.

We did however discover these ice lollies which are just frozen Greek yoghurt which she loves and the del monte orange lollies which are 100% orange juice with no added sugar. I can often get Mia to eat more and try new things at dinner with the promise of an ice lolly or some melon! Bribery is bad I know, but when it gets her eating more then so be it!

This is a prime example of a meal I can get her to eat more of. She likes macaroni cheese but won't eat broccoli but yesterday after offering her some melon if she ate one piece of her broccoli we had success! At least she's eating a little bit of greens!

Have your little ones gone through a fussy phase?

Our week

This week we have had picnics, visited 2 playgrounds, been to gymnastics and ballet and played with friends! The weather is finally becoming more like summer here so it's been a great week to get outdoors!

Joules Haul

Sorry for the poor quality photos! Recently we took a trip to a clothing outlet and I decided to have a browse in Joules. I have never shopped in Joules before so I had no idea what to expect really. It reminded me of Boden but as it was an outlet it was a fraction of the price.
